Colors of Marrakech is the online gallery of photographer and author Jörg Schleenbecker. The images shown in the gallery, featuring unique colors and visual impressions from the old city (Medina) and the vibrant souks of Marrakech, can be ordered directly from the online shop for photo art. In addition to artworks from Marrakech, the online gallery also presents numerous special pictures from other exciting travel destinations around the world. For example, in the new collection "WORLD MARKETS," you will find unique impressions of fascinating marketplaces across the globe, from the Italian Tuscany, to the bustling Thamel Bazaar in the heart of Nepalese Kathmandu, to the exotic markets of Southeast Asia, from wild Sumatra to the Indonesian dream island of Bali.
The special photo art prints, available with or without elegant framing, are produced in high gallery quality in cooperation with the renowned online photo lab Whitewall and delivered directly to the customer.
Jörg Schleenbecker, born in Gießen, has been traveling to North Africa's Morocco for over 35 years and has repeatedly explored Marrakech, the oriental trading metropolis on the edge of the High Atlas, with his camera on numerous photo journeys. During his extensive wanderings through the old alleys of Marrakech and deep into the colorful souks of the Medina, he constantly discovers new motifs and unique facets of oriental life in one of the most exciting places in the Maghreb on each of his trips.
Although Marrakech has changed rapidly in recent decades and now attracts numerous tourists from all over the world, there is still the old, original Marrakech. In the shadow of the mighty minaret of the venerable Koutoubia Mosque, hidden behind the reddish-shimmering clay walls of the winding old city and just a few steps off the beaten tourist paths, they still glow, the unique, enchanting colors of the old Medina, the "Colors of Marrakech"
